The answer is, the climbing kiln. It’s diagonal structure symbolizes the kilns built on the slopes of the hills in Arita.



Arita’s slope is ideal for the climbing kilns
This slope was convenient for the fire to circulate evenly around the porcelain that was placed at the tail of the elongated climbing kiln.
Today, this early style kiln is not used anymore, except for special events.
