What is the design of the manhole cover in your town?

It is said that there are about 15 million manholes for sewerage alone in Japan.

In many municipalities, various covers are installed with motifs of local landmarks and specialties.

In Arita Town, manhole covers shaped like ginkgo leaves

Here in Arita Town, we have installed manhole covers with a gingko leave design, which is the tree of the town.

Among them, the covers in two places in the town are installed with a different design from the ginkgo leaves.

They are “Gundam manholes” donated by the Bandai Namco Group.

Gundam Manhole Cover

The first is a “Gundam”, which is located on the side of the Tonbai-bei wall of Tsuji Seijisha Porcelain.

Gouf Manhole Cover

The other one is a “Gouf”, which is installed on the observation deck of the Izumiyama Quarry.
