an Art-work in Arita
The Expo 2025 is now held in Osaka, Japan. It is the second World Expo held in Japan and the location was also in Osaka.
The first one was held in 1970 when Japan was economically booming and the Shinkansen just started to carry people between Tokyo and Osaka in high speed. In the centre of this Expo 70 stood its symbol, ‘Tower of the Sun’ , created by Taro Okamoto who is famous for his words, ”Art is an explosion!”.
Well, surprisingly, there is an art work of the same artist in Arita.
Taro Okamoto’s art work is placed in front of the main entrance staircase of ” Hall of Fire Memorial ”.
You can try to feel Okamoto’s explosions at either places, in Arita and in Osaka.
